Description

Graphomètre van Vve. Lennel, dates from between 1784 (= death of Mr. Lennel and takeover of the studio by his widow) and a few years later, when she also died.
.The brass instrument was made completely in the workshop possibly the exact fitting wooden box (extremely rare in itself) was custom made by a carpenter
.Whether or not to insert a compass was the buyer's decision, depending on the instrumentation he already had. It is certain that the compass was not manufactured by Lennel, but had to be ordered separately from a specialized other instrument maker.
